The task of melding an ensemble of talents to realise a unique creative vision, providing mankind with its most sublime moments'Sussex Symphony, 'The friendly and accessible face of music in the region'The Sussex Symphony Orchestra, (SSO) based in Brighton, was formed in 1993 and is now rated as one of the best of its kind in the country.
Performing primarily at premier venues across the south of England, the SSO attracts critical acclaim for its programming and quality of performance under its inspirational and charismatic founder, conductor, Mark Andrew James.
The orchestra is made up of players who are professional, those of similar standards,but who have chosen other walks of life, students and gifted amateurs.
The SSO is totally representative of the enormous amount of talent that is available in the region as only those who live or work here are invited to play.
